Week 4, Day 2
Daily Prayer
Hail Holy Queen
Hail Holy Queen,
Mother of mercy,
Our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve.
To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping
In this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate,
Thine eyes of mercy towards us.
And after this, our exile,
Show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement O loving O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us O holy mother of God.
(This line is read by one person when the Hail Holy Queen is being recited in a group setting.)
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.
(This line is the response given by the group.)

Mary Shows us the Way
Mary lived a truly blessed life. She loved fully, never shying away from the tough times. She endured much and never complained about life being too hard, or said that she just couldn’t take it anymore. We are truly living a blessed life when we go all the way to the end of what God is calling us to do and give everything we have to achieve God’s plan for us.
What are some tough times you have experienced? What kept you from giving up? If you have given up at times, what can you do differently to have the strength to not give up next time? Perhaps more prayer, more acts of daily adoration, more scripture reading.
Mary teaches us how to be fully happy. We too can offer ourselves completely to God’s service every day. If we live each day as if it were our last, one day it will be true. Mary is the inspiration to give our whole life to God. She was the happiest of all people. This happiness and joy can be ours too, if we follow in her path. Mary will help and inspire us to do great things for God.
What are some of the ways we can give ourselves to God? We can offer daily sacrifices, like letting someone go before us when we walk through a door. We can be nice to someone who is not nice to us. We can choose to spend time in prayer every day, in the morning or in the evening, no matter how tired we are. We can choose to visit an elderly relative in the nursing home or play with someone no one else wants to play with.
Daily Pious Practice Reminder
- This week strive to let the Light of Christ shine in our world by evangelizing others.
Closing Prayer
Holy God, our Father, all of our hope is in you. You desire to lead us to heaven in the company of the Virgin Mary. Help us to draw strength from your promise of happiness by surrendering ourselves with trust into Mary’s hands. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
