Congratulations! Now that all the members of your family have consecrated themselves to Jesus, through Mary, what can you do as a family to live out that consecration? Hopefully, this time of preparation has been fruitful for your family and each member of your family is closer to our Blessed Mother and her Son as a result of the past 34 days of prayer and reflection.  We pray that your family has seen the value of time spent each day in prayer with the other members of the family.

Here are some practical ways in which your family can continue to grow closer to the Lord daily by living out your consecration:

  • Pray the Family Rosary every evening (could be done at the same time as you have set aside for the daily consecration reflections)
    • Your Holy Family will be developing a Family Rosary companion soon.  This guide will help you to delve deeper into the mysteries of the rosary, and make the beauty of each mystery accessible to your entire family.
  • Celebrate feast days in a special way–go to Mass, special dinner, a party with other families
  • Continue to perform the daily pious practices that were done each week during the preparation
    • Daily acts of Adoration
    • Daily Scripture reading
    • Offering up a small sacrifice
    • Evangelize others
    • Visit Christ in the Blessed Sacrament
    • Pray the Angelus and the Regina Caeli (during Easter)
  • Build a community of faith in your local community
    • Invite another family to dinner
    • Invite someone who doesn’t have family locally to dinner or to spend special holy days with your family
    • Organize a family rosary night or family stations of the cross
    • Organize a Family Fun Day at your parish or in your community
    • Organize a Teen Shenanigans at your parish or in your community
  • Be a family of service
    • Visit a local nursing home
    • Volunteer as a family at your parish (parish festival, community service projects, or start a new ministry for families (see FFD and TS above))
    • Home-bound ministry–taking communion to those in nursing homes or shut-ins; food pantry; hospitality ministry
    • Visit your extended family for no special reason, just to be with them and perhaps do small household maintenance items
